Major Russian Assaults Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with disruption to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, labeling such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said energy workers and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
